Radiometric age dating and relative age dating?

Mee Blumenfeld: Radiometric make the use of different isotopes with specific decay rates. Fx carbon 14 is used to estimate the time since a living organsim died because every living thing contains it. Relative dating is the use of fx fossils. It is found in different layers in sediment rocks and with that you can date it in relation with other fossils in other sediment layers.

Bailey Lares: Any form of dating that is currently used is based on many unprovable assumptions. If those assumptions are correct, then the earth is much older than YECs think. However, there is no way to prove those assumptions. Do we know how much was in the sample originally? Do we know that the decay rate has been the same? Do we know that the sample has never been contaminated? How do you know that any one kind of animal is older than others? I have seen bird footprints in the same layer as dinosaur footprints. That would mean they are the same age....Show more
