Edwina Fu: Professional gambling is not something you'd like to take time doing in your life. You wont be successful because there isn't anything you can do to get success from being in it , unless you leave it.There are lots of things that could be lost by gambling. Not only financially but socially and mentally. You should have another Career plan.Write me back so I can find something that will help you or suit you best...Show more
Robt Betker: It's a hard way to make an easy living. Take some trips to Vegas or other poker playing areas and see if you can be successful. Try to play online and see if you are making enough to be successful.
Betsey Copp: Yes, i agree with the previous person's answer, Lisa. Although i play poker online for fun, i find it really hard to win. And even if you do win, there will always be ups and downs and i find that when I'm down money it really hurts you mentally because your really mad at why you got badbeated or just planly ou! tplayed. Another thing to understand is that poker isn't all skill, however there is skill involved... but don't go steaming when you get a badbeat because this happens all the time in poker. And also, like Lisa said before me, poker will cause you to be less social as you see on t.v. - you rarely see them communicate when they play... it is a hard game, i would'nt reccomend this path because it is a game of chance and luck and you just won't know when you'll strike it...Show more
Leticia Laiben: I would try online poker first. Most of the players in vegas these days play online so I know this helps. Also, most of the pros play at full tilt. It is the best site out there. Whether your playing small or big it doesnt matter. I've been playing for money on the site for a while now and have been making significant money. It's what I recommend. Here is the link to join. good luck!
Floy Fague: First, how do you justify "hard" and "successful"?
Andra Oger:! I'm a professional poker player (I live off poker) and I make! enough playing poker as I would doing pretty much anything else. But, speaking from experience, it's not easy to reach this point.Very few players are able to win enough from poker to use it as their only source of income. I once heard an analogy. Hold out your arm, which represents all poker players. The length of your hands represents those poker players who win over the long term. The length of your little finger represents those poker players who earn enough to play poker for a living.Unless you have a solid history of winning at the stakes you've been playing (we're talking about a sample size of at least many thousand hands), I would recommend getting your feet wet before you jump in. Maybe play poker part time and see how you do.Also, poker players don't have any mental or social deficiencies as other users here have suggested. Any observed differences are probably just due to different personalities.Best of luck....Show more
Patrick Bitsui: Ok First of! all Good for you. Atleast you are showing signs of life. Gambling for a living is very hard. It is a grind. It's not a get rich over night scheme. It's about slowly advancing you bankroll, which in turn raises you limits which in turn raises you winnings. People will tell you that if you are betting more you will lose more. This is true but false at the same time. For instance A general rule for poker is to use only 3% of your bankroll or 1/30. ( cash games) MTT tables about 1% or 1/100.When you win enough to move up to the next level you are recomended to have the same % just a higher ammount of money. So you will lose more money but your % risked will never change. Sports betting it is recomended you use 1%-2% as well. Even if the game seems to be a lock or you like the odds. Go to 2+2 poker.com for gambling advice. They are great. Best poker and gambling forum out there. Good Luck.Poker is not a game of luck. It is skill and numbers. People are always screaming about it! being luck but it is really just variance. After playing a million han! d you will see it all evens out. but the good players show profit while they bad players show a loss....Show more
