Nell Dipiero: You would just go to school to study graphic design, not editorial design. I don't think there are many (if any) colleges out there who have programs specifically designed for editorial design. As a graphic design major, you would learn how to use programs like Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress, which is what a majority of publication companies use to create their magazines.
Rosio Pasculli: I personally think my design degree changed everything about the way I think about design. The program and teacher are crucial though. Learning to make a logo without any knowledge of design theory and the foundation of word and image is pointless.
