castrol motorcycle oil?

Mark Hovanes: Castrol is good - I myself prefer Valvoline 20/50 in my VFR 750 but the Castrol brand is as old as the hills in motorcycle circles.

Solomon Belback: Castrol 4t Motorcycle Oil

Joeann Hoyt: try Amsoil

Marcelina Schossow: Castrol motorcycle oil is very good. I use Valvoline 10w-40 motorcycle oil in my honda magna 750. Amsoil is also good oil from what I hear but it is a little more exspensive.A lot of people will tell you it doesn't matter if you use automobile oil in your bike as long as it doesn't say "energy conserving" on the back of the bottle. They'd be right but the price difference is only about a buck a qt. so for peace of mind I use motorcycle oil....Show more

Dulcie Edis: Castrol Motorcycle Oil

Kristina Brockwell: Castrol has an excellent reputation, as does Silkolene and Motul. I put Castrol Actevo X-TRA-4T (part synthetic) in my daughter's 250cc V Star.My VLX (and wife's Magna) gets Rotella T (full synthetic) 5w40My Va! lkyrie gets Amsoil because I want 50w in it....Show more

Danette Slotnick: Amsoil, Amsoil, Amsoil!!!!It is a little pricey but it is well worth it. I have read study after study on the performance of motorcycle oils and amsoil beat all hands down. It is synthetic though. Im not for sure whether your bike is air cooled or water cooled without looking it up but if it is air cooled then I would definatley go for the amsoil. It is designed for the extreme heat that a v-twin air cooled engine produces and you dont have to change your oil but around every 5000 miles unless you drive in extreme heat situations. I own a Harley Davidson and had a choice of many synthetics to put in my bike including Harley Screaming Eagle Synthetic....Nothing outperforms the Amsoil in any test of engine wear and protection. Here is a link to one such test...http://www.amsoil.com/performancetests/g1971/index......Show more
