Leif Andreason: I'm not sure, but seeing the scary and sad amount of people who are trying to lose weight and get fit without any knowledge on how to do it correctly, I would say it would be a good idea to get a carrier in it.No industry is stable. Fitness would be as good as any.Cheers :)...Show more
Beau Starcevic: The thing about the Fitness Industry is that there are different areas you can work in so yes but look it what area you want to work in. Just do your reseach first in your own area to see if you have anyone working in the same ares.
Alberto Kozub: You have to look ahead into the future because of the economy right now. Figure out what profession will be the first to go during a money crunch. What field in medicine would be the least likely to be cut? I worked in the medical field for many years, and PT was one of the first departments to be cut (five girls to two) when funds ran low. Research well if the field you are interested in is unndated wit! h new grads looking for the same position. The La Crosse Trib had an article this Sunday (today) about how there are no jobs for thousands of new graduates ready to work. I don't know how much school you have left, but what is happening in the job market will be very important to your decision. The days of going to school for what you love are dwindling. You have to be proactive about the future and try and figure out what profession is going to have longevity in the future, which is unclear at best, and then try for an internship to get your foot in the door. Certainly the healthcare field will be the last to go. A large corporation like Theda Care, Aurora, or Affinity may be a good place to start. The small clinics and hospitals will be the first to close their doors, as will health clubs. Watch the want ads each Sunday and see what jobs are consistently out there related to what you want to pursue as a career. Just remember, if you have several years of school left, the ! job market will be different in a few years. I personally thin! k that sports medicine/physical therapy will employ the bare minumum it can get away with it the future if the economy keeps taking the dive that it is; health clubs will close; schools will drop sports programs; average Joe will be unable to afford the YMCA; etc. I could be completely wrong of course! Let's hope so. Good luck!...Show more
