Study abroad in England?

Melissa Lavallie: Hey! I am also a high school student hoping to travel abroad (preferably Italy.) Australia is so expensive because it's an English-speaking country, and everyone wants to go there. There are not any study abroad programs currently that go to England because visas are so hard to come by. I know, it sucks. I wanted to go to England too! If you find a program, I would suggest not trusting it. The only programs you should trust are those listed by CSIET. Rotary and YFU are the best, I promise. Rotary is a little difficult to get into, but it's significantly cheaper. However, you will most likely not get your first choice of Australia. YFU is more expensive, but you'll almost definitely get Australia. With YFU, you can get scholarships. I don't know the likelihood of actually getting one, but the option is there.I suggest, however, that you go to a non-English speaking country. Half the experience is learning a new language! Australia and Engla! nd are both very similar to America. The point of going is to be completely submerged in a new culture. Seriously, I strongly recommend you go to a country you know very little about because it adds to the adventure! Good luck to you in your abroad adventures. I really hope it works out for you!...Show more
