how do body systems transport materials?

Terrell Voltz: For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/avLF0The Circulatory system transports the nutrients throughout the body after being broken down in the digestive system.

Hugo Pittari: From Cells to Systems:-Each body system has a specific task that helps keep you alive. But all systems work together.-On its own a single body system can't keep you alive.-The digestive system, for example, breaks down food into nutrients the body needs for energy.-But, without the circulatory system, the nutrients couldn't travel to the parts of the body that need them.-The Circulatory System:-The circulatory system transports oxygen, nutrients, and waste through the body into the blood.-The liquid part of the blood called plasma is mostly water.-The solid part of the blood includes red and white blood cells. Red contains oxygen and white fight infection.-Blood also contains platelets which are tiny pieces of blood cells inside membranes.-Platelets cause b! lood to clot when a vessel is cut. They also repair damage to the vessel.-The Respiratory System:-The lungs are the major organs of the respiratory system.-The trachea (located in the throat) branches into 2 tubes called bronchi. Each of these lead into the lungs.-The bronchi divides into smaller tubes called alveoli.-The alveoli get blood from the pulmonary arteries which contains a lot of carbon dioxide (waste).-In The alveoli, oxygen from inhaled air diffuses into red blood cells and carbon dioxide diffuses out of the blood.-The Digestive System:-Your digestive system provides the nutrition your cells need to produce energy.-To do this there are 2 functions: Breaking food into nutrients, and getting nutrients into the blood.-First, you chew food , breaking it into smaller pieces.-Saliva moistens food and turns it into sugars.-Gastric juices in the stomach break it down into proteins.-After several hours partially digested food moves into the small intestine.-This is wher! e food turning into nutrients happens.-The Excretory System:-T! he excretory system gets rid of wastes in the blood.-Ammonia, a cell waste, is carried by the blood to the liver, where it is changed to urea.-From the liver, urea is carried by the blood to the kidneys. THis happens through the circulatory system....Show more
